11 March 2025 │ Grief Poem

Staring at the moon, I watch the clouds pass me by,
Passing time
And all the worries that are mine.
Everything is different now
One of us is going dow
How I wish you were here with me now.
The air thickens, and I suddenly run out of breath
Thinking what it was like for you
To open your arms and welcome death.
As the moon moves,
I am trying to move on
Counting the days since you’ve been gone.
Don’t ask me how
For all I wish is you were here with me now.
I leave denial and welcome pain in,
Step by step, it’s crawling on my skin.
I feel the tears coming on my chin
My thoughts filled with all that’s been.
Misery consumes me as I wish to resist,
The pain brought anger
I cease to exist.
No point in fighting it now,
How i wish you were here with me now.
